Opera in Concerto: Percacciolo Returns to Teatro Massimo

On 28 June 2025, Salvatore Percacciolo will return to Palermo’s Teatro Massimo to conduct a concert with the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo and soloists Ilaria Monteverdi and Andrea Piazza, featuring some of the most beautiful overtures and scenes from operas by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Verdi.

The concert marks the return of the Sicily-born conductor who, after his studies with Nicola Luisotti in Bologna, with Jorma Panula in Finland and Lorin Maazel in the US, had begun his career as a First Kapellmeister at Mannheim’s Nationaltheater. Since then, Percacciolo conducted a wide range of repertoire from Mozart and Rossini to contemporary world premieres, including at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, with the RSO Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.
