Ravel: Double Delight with Babayan

Sergei Babayan played both Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G and his Concerto for Left Hand, in a single concert programme with the Milan Symphony Orchestra under the baton of its music director Emmanuel Tjeknavorian. The response was enthusiastic. Italian media commented:

“Soloist Sergei Babayan dominated the keyboard in all the pieces, demonstrating, in addition to technical perfection, an excellent ability to mix light timbres, very legato notes and dynamic contrasts of extraordinary finesse.” (Corriere Bit)

Sergei Babayan and the Austrian music director and brilliant violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian also played an additional chamber music recital as part of Babayan’s collaboration with the Orhestra Sinfonica di Milano, offering Ravel’s Tzigane and other masterpieces to the spellbound audience.
