Coronation Music in Brno: A Look Back

On 7 October 2026 Andreas Scholl conducted SILENTIUM! ensemble at the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Brno.

At the heart of the programme were two of Handel’s Coronation Anthems, Zadok the Priest and My Heart is Inditing, alongside Jan Dismas Zelenka’s Te Deum for double choir and music by Johann Joseph Fux. The concert commemorated the Habsburgs’ accession to the Bohemian throne 500 years ago.

Andreas Scholl is one of the most revered interpreters of the past decades. As a conductor, he has invaluable insights into the works of early music to share with musicians and audiences alike.
