Under the festival’s 2026 motto “Light”, Andreas Scholl returned to the Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival on 18 June with “Augen, schöne Lichter” (“Eyes, beautiful lights”): cantatas by George Frideric Handel and Antonio Caldara, performed with recorder player Dorothee Oberlinger and harpsichordist Olga Watts in the Raphael Hall of the Orangery Palace in Sanssouci Park. Among the encores was Purcell’s “Fairest Isle”.
