“D’une Vienne à l’autre” – from one Vienna to another – was the title of Claus Peter Flor’s programme with the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg on 29 October at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès: Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 in B minor, the “Unfinished”, standing at the threshold of Romanticism; Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in C major with Aurélien Pascal; and, as the culmination of the evening, Alban Berg’s Lulu Suite, with Sarah Traubel as soprano soloist.
