Andreas Scholl Revisits Giulio Cesare
Andreas Scholl, “the world’s most cultured counter-tenor voice” (The Times), has joined a staged production of Händel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto led by his long-time musical partner and friend Roman Válek and his award-winning Czech Ensemble Baroque, at the Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and Znojmo Festival. Battling with an infection at the premiere, Andreas was very happy with the subsequent series of performances in this charming Jiřì Nekvasil production, featuring an international cast also including German counter-tenor colleague Valer Sabadus as Sesto, Doubravka Novotná as Cleopatra and Adam Plachetka as Achilla.
Next performances at the Znojmo Festival will be on 10/ 12 / 13 July. For tickets and further information, read on here.
