Mendelssohn’s Symphony of a Thousand: Sarah Traubel at Berlin Philharmonie
Not Mahler but Mendelssohn: Sarah Traubel sang the soprano solo in Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Symphony No. 2 “Lobgesang” at the Berlin Philharmonie, with Simon Halsey conducting the Choralspace Festival Orchestra and Chorus. Her radiant, bright voice filled the hall with ease, having the soprano solo float above the 900 (!) singers of the chorus, which included singers from the US, Australia, Spain, Lithuania and many other countries. An unforgettable experience for the musicians, that was received with standing ovations at the sold-out Berlin Philharmonie!
